Anti Rape Activist Nan Terrie's Great Influence on the Youth
Ms. Terrie has been very busy. In additional to speaking out against rape and misappropriation of funds, Nan has been helping out on a lot of friends. Many occupiers have endured years of emotional abuse. Ms. Terrie comforts them and gets to seek mental health care. She has directed these poor suffering souls to professionals who could give them therapy or medication.
Ms. Terrie is also working tirelessly to house people who have been marginalized by society. She is definitely a role model for children. She is encouraging young people to get good educations so they can have worthwhile careers. Why would such a person be kicked out of spokes? Obviously the rapists in OWS didn't like Ms. Terrie, because she acted against them. The other two groups who didn't like Ms. Terrie were men who want to be women (they were jealous of Nan because she's real woman) and guys whose sexual advances were rejected by Nan. These three types of people made an unholy alliance of evil, and banned Nan from spokes. The wickedness comes from her enemies is nearly overpowering. These men need spiritual cleansing and salvation. And exorcism.

The Great Wisdom Imparted by Sage on Occupy Wall Street
Within Occupy Wall Street, there exists a mysterious man name Sage. The name Sage has multiple meanings. Sage can meet a person with great wisdom. It can also mean a person who is an oracle, or seer. It is also a cleansing herb.
Sage lately has been devoted his efforts to restore order to OWS. The campers at Union Square were messy after arriving in Union Square. Sage got them to clean up after themselves. His efforts have led to needless bureaucracy being eliminated in OWS, and he has substantially reduced corruption. After all, Sage is a cleansing herb. He is a civilizing force in occupy. Many occupiers go to him for advice on all sorts of issues, and he uncannily always has the right answers. Its a combination of his great wisdom and his psychic intuition.
The only people who have issues with them are those haters who never got over him stealing their girlfriends. Dudes, its time to move on.

Obamacare Is a Big Scam
President Obama's healthcare reform isn't something that's intended to benefit the public. It benefits private insurance companies by forcing uninsured people to purchase private insurance. This is supposed to help keep healthcare costs down by having everyone have insurance. According to this theory, hospitals would be helped out as they would no longer have bills from people they couldn't pay. According to this theory, insurance premiums would go down if everyone paid insurance.
But every time more money is available to the general public, the price of everything goes up. Requiring everyone to pay into private insurance will likely cause healthcare prices to increase. Hospitals and pharmaceuticals have no incentive to lower price as it is. With Obamacare in place, they would raise prices even higher. The other big problem with this is the constitutionality of it. The government is forcing an individual to do business with a private company. There is no other precedent. Automobile insurance cannot be compared to this because you are not required to have a car, though you are required to have automobile insurance if you have a car. Those who don't have cars are not being forced to pay into the automobile insurance business. The federal government has no right to force you to do business with a private company. There is no statue in the US constitution that gives Congress the authority to pass a bill specifically requiring that you buy a particular service. Lets hope the Supreme Court rules this provision of Obamacare unconstitutional.
Another problem with this is lets face, it insurance companies are profitable only if most of their customers are almost never sick. Truly sick people private insurance companies simply find ways to get rid of and put on medicare or medicaid. It should be up to the individual to determine whether or not they need health insurance. Many comparatively healthy people, who may not make much money, would be forced to effectively subsidize the severely ill and hypochondriacs. I remember when as a student I had to buy private health insurance. Student insurance is a goldman for insurance companies. Students tend to be pretty healthy people (a really sick person can't stick to an university schedule) and they are too busy to be hypochondriacs. Ditto for people who work full time jobs. So if a job gives good insurance benefits, typically in most cases the insurance company knows that they won't use said benefits. Its really a small percentage of people that disproportionately use most medical resources. Its wrong to force the working poor and young people just starting their careers to pay for the sickest people. Its effectively making their lives more miserable by reducing the income that these working poor or young people have, and taking away their freedom of choice.

George Zimmerman is No Hero
Some reactionaries are trying to dig up dirt on Trayvon Martin, in order to defend George Zimmerman. They've posted allegations of Trayvon's alleged marijuana use, or his alleged suspension from school recently. Mind you, large numbers of teens have experimented with drugs or been disciplined by school authorities. That is no way justifies a shooting.
George Zimmerman has a violent past. He assaulted a police officer, and his girlfriend took him to court for domestic violence. So its quite clear he was a hotheaded, aggressive person. He was the wrong person to act as neighborhood watch. At the most, when someone on watch duty sees a crime, the watcher is supposed to call 911. The watcher isn't supposed to be armed. After calling 911, the dispatcher told Zimmerman not to follow Martin. Zimmerman followed Martin, and the end result was that he shot and killed Martin.
This is horrible and foolish on a number of levels. Zimmerman, who was not a police officer, followed someone he believed was suspicious. This put Zimmerman potentially in a position where he would kill or get killed. Had Travyon been a criminal with a gun who was also a fast shot, George Zimmerman could be dead. This is lost on those who seek to defend Zimmerman. Also lost on Zimmerman's defends is the damage Zimmerman did to himself when he followed and killed Martin. Zimmerman has had to go into hiding, he has been kicked out of Seminole State college, and he has rendered himself unemployable. There's a good chance Zimmerman is not happy with what he has done, and what he will always have to live with.

Occupy's Constant Police Battles Turn Public Opinion Against It
Occupiers need to step back a minute, and reassess their relationship to their host cities and to the rest of the country. A number of people in occupy are angry at the police for not letting people camp in Union Square. What they forget is that many other people use the Union Square area, for entertainment, shopping, to hang out, etc. There's nothing wrong with assembly in Union Square park, and interacting with the general public. But there is no right of occupiers to sleep or trash a park others use.
Occupy Wall Street's original message of economic injustice is being lost by constant fights with the police. Battling the cops all the time is not a battle occupiers can win. Also, at a certain point, the young people camping outside will simply have to start looking for work and finding normal housing situations.
Occupy, despite claiming to represent the 99%, has now taken on the form of a fringe movement or a cult. Members need to get back in touch with the mainstream, or else the movement will lose entirely.

Horrible Murder of Trayvon Martin Has Major Political Consequences
Trayvon Martin was murdered, no doubt. Its appalling that the police didn't arrest his killer. George Zimmerman, a paranoid racist, had called 911 because Martin looked suspicious in his mind. Martin, a young black man visiting his father, was wearing a hoodie on his way home. Zimmerman, a self appointed neighborhood watch man, decided to chase Martin after the 911 dispatcher told him not to. He hunted him down and murdered him. The police decided not to arrest Zimmerman, siting Florida's self defense gun laws. But they weren't expecting this to blow up so big via the internet. News of Martin's murdered became so huge via the internet it blew up in the mainstream media.
And already there have been huge political consequences in Florida. Chief of police Bill Lee has already "temporarily" resigned. Seminole county state attorney Norman R. Wolfinger has removed himself from the case, and Governor Rick Scott of Florida has decided to create a task force to review the case. Both federal and state agencies are investigating Seminole County's response to this matter, and Governor Scott is considering change's to Florida's Stand Your Ground Law.
Trayvon's murder was horrifically tragic, but at least the outcry surrounded it will have consequences that will help prevent others like him from dying so senselessly. And even in a conservative state like Florida, it checked the bloodlust that often overwhelms politics (demagogues use fear to manipulate the public, often fear of blacks and other non whites).

Occupy Wall Street is Now Occupy Union Square
On the night of March 17th, a number of Occupiers marched to Union Square. Some spent the night there. Since then occupiers have remained in Union Square. Many of the occupiers there believe Union Square to be a much better location that Zuccotti Park. After all, Union Square is a major shopping and entertainment area. The major area employers are universities, publishing, advertising, film, and other creative fields. Union Square is a bit more centrally located, and was always a hangout for all types of people.
Unfortunately for those wishing to camp out in the park, the NYPD isn't tolerating large numbers of people sleeping in the park. There have already been skirmishes and arrests. A young woman was pushed to the pavement Wednesday morning, around 4am on March 21st. She hit her head on the pavement. An ambulance was called and she was taken to the hospital. Though Occupy originally claimed to be a movement against the banking system, lately the focus seems to have changed into one of police brutality and issues surrounding homelessness. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, these are legitimate issues that certainly are an important part of public discourse.

Occupy Wall Street Urges May 1st Strike
At a news conference on Monday, Occupy Wall Street protesters urged the public to protest in a general strike on May 1st to protest the brutal suppression of the activists on March 17th. A number of protesters were arrested and beaten on that day. According to May Bloomberg, the police used restraint in arresting protesters. Of course, those of us who saw what happened first hand know otherwise. City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez urged that there be a protester bill of rights. Horrifically Brutal Arrests at Zuccoti Park on 6 Month Occupy Wall Street Anniversay
On March 17th, the day started out as a positive, fun filled day. Occupiers had decide to celebrate their 6 month anniversary. There a number events, including marches. One march was in solidarity with postal workers, another was a bagpipe march. Zuccotti park was filled with occupiers. The drummers played their instruments. As the night, the officers raid the park. Many protesters were arrested. Some were beaten and injured severely. Others were dragged along the ground and forcibly removed from the vicinity. Around 40 or so protesters were placed on a MTA bus and taken away. Other protesters were placed in a police bus, and several vans. One woman in police custody had a seizure. Several ambulances arrived on the scene. It was difficult to determine the number of people arrested, but various estimates go as high as 100 or more. The police barricaded the park. For awhile, protesters were allowed to stand on the sidewalks. Then everyone was forced out of the block.
This was such a shocking abuse of police power. This level of brutality to clear the park was completely unacceptable. Most of the protesters would have gone home after 1am. People were simply out late because it was Occupy's 6 month anniversary and it was St. Patrick's Day. The few people who might have camped out all night could have easily been removed from the park without much force, as the NYPD have done on several occasions.

Occupy Forecloses on Bank of America
Protesting the mass foreclosure on homes by Bank of America and other large banks, occupiers protested outside a downtown Bank of America branch. Many of the foreclosures were illegal, and banks often ignored that some homeowners qualified for government assistance. In part because of occupy, the public attitude towards banks have changed. The states are suing the banks, and already the banks have settled out to the tune of billions. New York, Nevada, and California have additional litigation against Bank of America.
Occupy has returned to its roots, and is now again protesting against economic injustice. The spring has rejuvenated the protesters and as internal situations in occupy get worked out and dealt with, it paves the way for more activism.

Attempted Fascist Power Grab in Occupy Wall Street
On Thursday, March 15th, the Exclusion Principle was brought to the GA. Read the Exclusion Principle
This principle, if passed, would have anyone voted out of the GA banned to the point where not only would they be kicked out of the spokes council, the GA, all working groups, all occupy events, they would also be shunned by all occupiers and somehow prevented from telling media or the world that they are an occupier. Most standing governments don't tell people to shun people who have been convicted of a crime, so this proposal, had it been passed, would have made occupy far more oppressive than any standing government. The proposer tabled it as it was clear it would be blocked.
Occupy activists must not only fight against injustice in the greater society, they must fight against tyranny and attempts to create tyranny within occupy. Had this proposal passed, any unpopular person could have been kicked out of occupy by a majority vote in the GA. There was no specific crime listed in the proposal that clarified what should lead to this, nor was there any burden of proof in the proposal listed.

Goldman Sachs Executive Resigns Because of Corrupt Goldman Culture
Greg Smith, a Goldman Executive, resigned from Goldman Sachs. He wrote a scathing editorial in the New York Times, describing a sick corporate culture at Goldman. According to Mr. Smith, in the past Goldman did show interest in providing services to its clients, designed to make them richer. But in recent years, according to Smith, Goldman's corporate culture has become a den of con artists. Essentially, their focus is on how much money they can fleece off their clients, not in helping their clients make money on their investments.
The government has recently attempted to address this. As biggest part of pay for bankers is commissions and bonuses, new government regulations have required bigger base salaries. Perhaps more needs to be done on this front, because if bankers had more stability in their income, perhaps they wouldn't feel the need to "fleece" their customers.
Goldman Chairman Lloyd C. Blankfein denied Smith's allegations in a rebuttal published by Bloomberg Businessweek. But things must have been pretty bad for Blankfein to even both acknowledging, must less rebutting, Smith's editorial in the New York Times.

US Conservative Pat Robertson Supports Marijuana Legalization
Pat Robertson was quoted by the New York Times and other sources as supporting marijuana legalization. The significance of this is lately influential conservatives as Robertson are increasing calling for the lessening of sentences, if not the legalization of marijuana.
Their concern is that since alcohol is legal, why shouldn't marijuana be? Mr. Robertson says he doesn't use either substance. At the same time Robertson doesn't think intoxication goes against Christian teachings, as he notes that in the bible Jesus turned water into wine.
The significance of this is that even conservatives realize its a waste of resources to put people in jail for drug dealing. Essentially non violent people are being locked away with murderers and rapists. Imprisoning non violent people with violent criminals often turns them into far worse criminals once they are released. The misguided criminal justice system doesn't mean that substance abuse isn't a serious issue. Narcotics can be extremely damaging to one's health, and addiction is a leading cause of homelessness. But there are much better ways of addressing these issues, including having treatment for those who are addicted. Education also plays a role in preventing both abuse and addiction.

Emo Kids Butchered in Iraq
According to AP News, Emo kids are being murdered in Iraq. The police so far have been unwilling or unable to halt this massacre. With US forces pulling out, unfortunately these young people are on their own for now. Emo kids are those who dress in styles in the past once called goth or punk. They are associated with being gay, though they aren't necessarily gay.
In the rigid society religious conservatives would like to recreate in Iraq, anyone who stands out isn't wanted. The international community must condemn this violence, and make it clear any regimes that we trade or do business with that human rights must be respected.

Ben and Jerry's Financial Contributions to Occupy Wall Street
Despite the anti corporate rhetoric of some occupiers, the fact is that some members of the 1% have allied themselves with occupy, for their own reasons. And as whole occupy has accepted these funds.
While the general fund is low, there are well funded Affinity Groups. Chief among these are Movement Resource Group. MRG was founded by Ben Cohen, of Ben and Jerry's and several other business people. It funds various forms of peaceful protesting, messaging, and recruitment.
There's been a lot of controversy in occupy about MRG, and the potential for this to influence the movement. Regardless, a quick check on proposals submitted on the Movement Resource Group's site reveals that a number of occupiers have already submitted proposals for funding. MRG is organized as a (501)(c) non profit organization. Funded affinity groups and the influence they have on OWS are here to stay.

Rush Limbaugh, a Victim of His Own Success?
Rush Limbaugh is a victim of his own success. He became huge in the early 90s. The country had just left the Reagan years, and there were a number of attacks against government regulations such as the EEOC rules (based on the civil rights laws), government regulation of business, women's rights, and environmentalism. He was pretty popular among conservatives, and in fact loved for dismissing all of his opponents, including big groups of people.
However, Limbaugh personally attached Sandra Fluke. He spoke to her, a third year law student at Georgetown, in the manner that one would speak to a street prostitute of the lowest class. The problem with this many CEOs of companies who advertise with Limbaugh's show have young daughters in college who are using birth control. Therefore Limbaugh inadvertently attacked all educated women who want to control when they have children. This is what caused him to have a big enough outcry for him to first apologize and then lose sponsors en mass.
Limbaugh has long insisted he has the right to free speech. This is true, but it goes both ways. If he wants to say offensive things, fine. Others have the right to complain about it, and companies have the right to refuse to sponsor him. In just a short time he's lost 43 sponsors. Just like with Imus, he is backed by the network for now. But just like Imus, as the complaints against him sustain and as sponsors continue to withdraw, it will be the end of Limbaugh.

Occupy Wall Street Will Be Bankrupt in 3 Weeks
On Saturday, March 3, it was announced that there's only $89,000 dollars in the bail fund, while the general fund has only $44,000. Based on occupy's $10,000 a week kitchen budget, its $4,000 a month metrocard budget, its medic budget, and the budget for internet access for its website, the OWS General fund will be depleted in three weeks. The announcement can be found on livetweet
Unless the OWS general fund has an 11th hour rescue, for all practical purposes, it will be finished. Affinity occupy groups would still be able to do their own fundraising for direct actions. There are rumors that Ben and Jerry would like to donate to Occupy.

Sad Sudden Death of Andrew Breitbart
Mr. Breitbard died unexpectedly young at the age of 43. Its always tragic when one dies this young, particularly has he left behind a wife and children. The sites founded by Mr. Breitbard such as biggovernment.com, bigjournalism.com, and bighollywood.com covered topics that the mainstream media often refused to cover, and in time, became a major force into themselves. Mr. Breitbart was a part of the internet revolution. As one of the earlier bloggers, he helped popularize the medium into a major competitor to the establishment newspapers, television, and radio news.

Revolution Against Tyranny at the General Assembly
A great development happened in Occupy Wall Street the night of March 1st, 2012. The members of the general assembly rebelled against tyranny.
Occupy Wall Street was once a force that counterbalanced the tea party and that changed the national conversation. However, certain forces within occupy had no interest in engaging the political system. These elements had no interest in work, either. They wanted Occupy to function as a commune and as a welfare agency. Every time a good political proposal came up, they would come up with arcane OWS rules and use it to prevent it from proceeding. Last night, this was broken. When a group wanted solidarity with OWS, as they were going to DC to protest against groups lobbying for war with Iran, these elements through facilitation tried to prevent this proposal from even being discussed. They brought out every arcane rule they could. But the occupiers stood our ground, stating that we are activists and that we will not be oppressed by tyrannical rules. Occupiers, for solidarity purposes, donated funds to this group out of their pocket. Facilitation declared the meeting adjourned, but the body of people decided the meeting wasn't over. The facilitators were replaced, and we voted to stand in solidarity with the anti Iran war group.
Occupy made a good move in overcoming inertia, in going back to its roots as activists fighting for change, and in purposing ourselves. Occupy is not a welfare agency. The government does that job well enough.
