Review of Soundgarden's Live to Rise Video (the Avengers Movie Soundrack)

Soundgarden’s new video, Live to Rise is part of the Avengers movie soundtrack. For those who don’t know, the Avengers is Marvel’s latest superhero team. The film version stars Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, the Hulk, and Hawkeye, four of whom have been stars in their own solo movies in the past few years. Several of the Avengers look like they could be rock stars anyway. Chris Hemsworth’s Thor certainly looks and is dressed like he could be in a band. Ditto for Scarlett Johannson’s Black Widow. Likewise, Chris Cornell and the rest of the band almost look like they could be grungy superheroes. The editing of the clips of the musicians performing and the movie clips is seamless in this video. The shots and the lighting of the band's footage is certainly film quality. Live to Rise is quite clearly high production value. The song itself is Rock Pop. Its not too rock, as a movie soundtrack song must appeal to a diverse audience. Its got the right beat and pace to fit an action movie, as music during action scenes should keep the audience’s hyped up. The lyrics also suit the movie, as certainly the heroes must arise from life and death circumstances. Everything in this video was beautifully put together. Live to Rise is an excellent promo for the Avengers movie, and for Soundgarden’s music in general.
