Black and Other Ethnic Studies, Obsolete Frauds

African American, Hispanic, and Asian Studies at university are obsolete frauds. Nothing is wrong with studying other cultures or languages. However, that isn't what the focus of university ethnic studies is all about. These departments are identity politics. In other words , they must prey on feelings of marginalization that some young non whites have in an academic environment. They claim to be a community for these young people. But the reality is, these departments need there to be a perception of racism, because if marginalization went away, they'd cease to exist.

These departments, by trying to suck non whites into them, defacto ghettoize their education. People who waste time majoring in nothing but ethnic studies tarnish their resumes, and they have spent less time making contact with people of other races at universities due to the isolating nature of their majors. These ethnic studies departments are sabotaging the future of the young non whites who fall under their spell, making them all but useless outside of academia.

So then, what's the future of these departments? Considering that humanities in general are being butchered, the future of these departments isn't so good. On top of that, we have a Black President and a first lady, neither of whom got to where they are by having Phd's in African American Studies. As more prominent blacks, hispanics, and asians come forward (we known have Indian American governors in Louisiana and South Carolina, a Latina Supreme Court Justice, etc) these departments, as they currently are, will cease to exist. Those in these fields currently know it. When organizations and movements enter the dying phase, those left are the most militant. Today, any names in African American Studies are typically hold outs from the 1960s, men who have done this for so long they don't feel comfortable changing the direction of their careers.
