On Thursday, March 15th, the Exclusion Principle was brought to the GA. Read the Exclusion Principle
This principle, if passed, would have anyone voted out of the GA banned to the point where not only would they be kicked out of the spokes council, the GA, all working groups, all occupy events, they would also be shunned by all occupiers and somehow prevented from telling media or the world that they are an occupier. Most standing governments don't tell people to shun people who have been convicted of a crime, so this proposal, had it been passed, would have made occupy far more oppressive than any standing government. The proposer tabled it as it was clear it would be blocked.
Occupy activists must not only fight against injustice in the greater society, they must fight against tyranny and attempts to create tyranny within occupy. Had this proposal passed, any unpopular person could have been kicked out of occupy by a majority vote in the GA. There was no specific crime listed in the proposal that clarified what should lead to this, nor was there any burden of proof in the proposal listed.
